How we calculate prices
Everything on this page is checkable. The sources, the cadence, the currency conversion and the limits are written out so you can decide how much to trust a given number.
Sources and cadence
Each marketplace is read from its public endpoint. The cadence below is the interval between two reads, not a promise about how fast a marketplace updates its own listings.
| Source | What we take | Cadence |
|---|---|---|
| Skinport | Listing price and the number of listings, per wear level and per Doppler phase. | By hand, one run at a time |
| DMarket | Listing price and the number of listings, per wear level and per Doppler phase. | Automatic, about once a day |
| CSFloat | Listing price and the number of listings, per wear level and per Doppler phase. | Automatic, about once a day |
| white.market | Listing price and the number of listings, per wear level and per Doppler phase. | Automatic, about once a day |
| Tradeit | Listing price and the number of listings, per wear level and per Doppler phase. | Automatic, about once a day |
| Avan.market | Listing price and the number of listings, per wear level and per Doppler phase. | Automatic, about once a day |
| CS.MONEY | Listing price and the number of listings, per wear level and per Doppler phase. | Automatic, about once a day |
| Public CS2 game catalog | Skin names, images, rarity, float ranges and the container a skin drops from. | By hand, one run at a time |
| European Central Bank reference rates | The euro rate for every currency a marketplace prices in, currently the US dollar. | The rate published for the day of the run |
DMarket, CSFloat, white.market, Tradeit, Avan.market, CS.MONEY are read by a scheduler, about once a day. Skinport is still read by hand and can be a day or more old. That is why each price row carries the moment that marketplace was read.
Currency conversion
Marketplaces that price in USD are converted to EUR at the European Central Bank reference rate for the day of the check. We do not apply a spread of our own.
This build converted foreign currency at the reference rate published for 19 Sept 2026, 00:08 UTC.
Freshness
Every price carries the moment it was read. Under 15 minutes it is marked current, under an hour it is marked ageing, and past an hour it is marked stale with a visible warning rather than shown as if it were fresh.
Once the newest number from a source is more than an hour old, it keeps the stale mark and the warning that goes with it instead of being redrawn as current. An old number that admits its age is still useful; a fresh-looking number we cannot stand behind is not.
Float and wear
Float is the wear value between 0 and 1 that the game stores on every item. Lower means less visible wear, and inside one wear level a lower float usually costs more.
Wear levels and float ranges come from the game catalog. Where a marketplace publishes the float of an individual listing we say so; where it does not, we show the catalog range and label it as such.
This is the catalog range for the wear level, not the float of a specific listing — not every marketplace publishes per-listing floats.
Doppler phases
Doppler and Gamma Doppler phases are separate items with separate prices — measured on live data, the same knife and wear ranges more than sevenfold between its cheapest and dearest phase. We never average them into one number.
A price aggregated across all phases would be meaningless here, so every phase is priced on its own.
Known limits
We see listings, not completed sales. A listing can sit unsold above the market, and a marketplace can change its terms without announcing it. Both are reasons a price here is a best current estimate, not a quote.
How we make money
When you go to a marketplace through a button here, we may receive a share of what that marketplace earns on the sale. Your price does not change, and the marketplace never pays us to rank higher.
Rows are ordered by total price alone. A marketplace that pays us nothing still sits at the top when it is cheapest.
No advertising, no sponsored rows, no paid placement.
